Have you ever been to the Baci Chocolate factory? If you are an italian chocolate lover, it’s a must see!

Baci chocolates are a well-known Italian chocolate product produced by Perugina, which is now owned by Nestlé. Baci means “kisses” in Italian, and these chocolates are famous for their hazelnut-filled centers wrapped in a layer of dark chocolate. Yum!!

Each chocolate is individually wrapped and includes a sweet love note in several languages inside the wrapper. We ❤️ Baci, and they make a delightful delicious gift for the ones you love.

Braided buffalo mozzarella, also known as “Treccia di mozzarella,” is a variation of mozzarella cheese that is shaped into a braid. The origin of this cheese is tied to the same regions in Italy that are famous for producing buffalo mozzarella: mainly Campania but also Lazio, Apulia, and Molise. The braiding technique is a traditional form of shaping the mozzarella, which not only affects its appearance but can also slightly alter its texture, making it a bit firmer and chewier compared to the classic ball (or “bocconcini”) shape. This form of mozzarella is enjoyed for its aesthetic appeal, especially in presentations and special occasions, in addition to its delicious taste and texture.

We visited Nora’s favorite buffalo mozzarella farm, and it was a true slice of heaven! 🐃 🥛 🍨

Let’s get cooking! 🍝
Pici all’aglione is a traditional Italian dish of pici pasta tossed in a tomato sauce with sweet, softly cooked garlic. It’s simple, rustic, and delicious, and
another favorite dish that we learned about from Chef Nora! 👩‍🍳 🍝

If you can find the large, sweet elephant garlic, that’s what you want! The typical Tuscany dish calls for the local Tuscan varietal (of course! 🇮🇹)
Aglione is BIG garlic, and in Tuscany the harvest season is limited, so you gotta get it while it’s in season!

p.s. This dish was so easy and fast to make and was delicious!! Even better were the leftovers. YUM!

The Power of Solo Travel

There are so many lessons I’ve learned over these past six years traveling to and from Tuscany. The most powerful lesson I’ve learned is that it is necessary to remove yourself from your day-to-day realm to quiet the chatter and let yourself “be”, so you can heal and move your life in the direction of your dreams.

Whether you are healing your heart from a bad breakup, the loss of a loved one, a new stage in your family’s lifecycle and children growing up and moving on, a career change, the challenges of aging, a dream unrealized, or a sickness, you’ve got to find the courage to get out of everyone else’s lane and get back on your own path to do your own life’s work.

For me, this has always meant travel – alone and preferably far away. And my soul seems to do its best healing when I am in Italy, usually lost deep in the heart of Tuscany.

After many years of hosting groups of women in Tuscany through the Retreat to Tuscany program, I have learned that the idea of traveling alone to a foreign country is scary as shit for most people. It’s way outside the comfort zone for many, and yet it is the most empowering experience I have witnessed in myself and others when it comes to tending to one’s soul.

This magical land continues to heal and nurture me on many levels. It slows me down, it helps me quiet the loud chatter in my head that can hijack my life and critical decision-making, it reminds me that I am the only one who complicates my life and it validates the importance of not attaching myself to the wrong people and their dreams; “stay true to your own dreams”, is the powerful whisper that helps me recenter, back into my place of knowing.

It feels good to be reminded that your crazy dreams aren’t that crazy. That we all have an opportunity to inspire and lift each other up through taking bold steps, doing that “thing” that you always dreamed of doing, and believing in yourself. You never know who’s watching. And that’s pretty cool.
